New to Yoga? - Some helpful information

For those of you that have never been to a Yoga class before I have set out below some information which I hope will be helpful and encourage you to come along.

What do I wear?

The clothes in your closet, not the baggiest and not the tightest.   Something comfortable to move around in and not restrictive. Try bending and stretching in your clothes.  Shoes are not required as it is best to work with bare feet.

Do I need any special equipment?

No.  I can provide a yoga mat and anything else required, including water to keep you hydrated.

Will I be at the front of the class?

You can be wherever you are comfortable. The main thing is that you can see the teacher and you can observe others.

How will I compare to others?

Yoga is not competitive so you don't need to compare yourself to anyone else and besides we all have 'good' and 'bad' days! In your yoga practice it is a time for you to be with yourself and relax.

Will there be any other new people?

There is a very good chance that you will not be the only 'new person' as I am keen to involve as many people new to yoga as possible.
